To provide role models for underrepresented minority students in the sciences, candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply. Eligible postdoctoral researchers must provide proof of a doctoral degree and must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. We provide health benefits, stipend, support for research and teaching supplies, course development, and travel to attend two professional meetings, one being the IRACDA annual conference. The duration of a fellowship is three years.
To be considered for the program, interest individuals should:
1. Prepare the application materials as one .pdf file and e-mail the file to the Program Administrator. PDF file must contain the following documents:
i) Application form fully completed.
ii) A personal statement (no more than 1 page) - this should outline your career, background, and history in science, including experiences, interests in teaching and future goals, particularly highlighting your reasons for applying to the IRACDA program at Stanford.
iii) A Curriculum Vitae.
iv) Statement of support from Stanford mentor. This statement should underscore the support and understanding of the postdoctoral advisor about the terms of the IRACDA program.
2. Arrange for three (3) Letters of Recommendation, with at least one from your PhD advisor, to be e-mailed directly to the Program Manager.
Applicants should contact potential research mentors as they apply to IRACDA. The Program Director will be happy to assist in suggesting appropriate mentors within the Stanford research community. For questions about the Program, contact the Program Director, Joseph Puglisi or the Program Administrator, Manolia Margaris.
